South Africa doesn’t have a standalone “cookie law” the way some other jurisdictions do. Cookies are only regulated under POPIA to the extent they process personal information — so this page tells you plainly what CompMetrics actually uses, rather than a generic list of cookie categories that don’t apply here.
1. What we actually use
CompMetrics uses only strictly necessary/authentication cookies, set by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) to keep you signed in and to protect your session. We do not currently set any analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies.
2. Essential/authentication cookies
These cookies are required for the Platform to function — keeping you signed in as you move between pages, and protecting your session against certain security risks. Because they’re strictly necessary for the service you’ve asked for (signing in and using your account), they don’t require a separate opt-in.
3. No analytics or marketing trackers
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party marketing/tracking cookie. If this ever changes, we will update this page first, and, where legally required, ask for your consent before any such tracker runs.
4. Managing cookies
You can control or clear cookies through your browser settings. Since the only cookies we set are needed to keep you signed in, blocking them will simply require you to sign in again more often, and may prevent parts of the authenticated app from working.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this page if what we actually use changes; see the Privacy Policy for our broader data-handling practices.
