1. About PAIA
The Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) gives you the right to request access to records held by CompMetrics, subject to the Act’s grounds for refusal. This page is our current, good-faith summary of how that process works for CompMetrics — it is not itself the full PAIA manual referred to in section 5.
2. Information Officer

3. How to request information
Send a written request to the Information Officer (email is acceptable) describing the record you’re requesting with enough detail for us to locate it, and how we should respond to you. We will acknowledge your request and respond within the timeframes PAIA sets out, or explain if a ground for refusal applies.
4. Fees
PAIA permits a private body to charge a prescribed request/access fee for certain requests. We have not yet published a specific fee schedule for CompMetrics; if a fee applies to your request, we will tell you the amount before proceeding.
5. PAIA manual status
A private body is generally required to maintain a PAIA manual describing the categories of records it holds and how to request them. CompMetrics has not yet published a formal PAIA manual — this is a known, outstanding governance action, not something we are concealing. Until a full manual is published, use the process in section 3 to make a request, and contact the Information Officer with any question about this status.
